Welcome to BASJ

Bangladesh Association of South Jersey (BASJ)

Bangladesh Association of South Jersey (BASJ) is an association of Bangladesh community living in South Jersey. It is dedicated to promote the cultural and ethnic heritage of the Bangladeshi community in the state of New Jersey. Every year, Bangladesh Association of South Jersey organizes several cultural programs, seminars and an annual picnic to celebrate Bangladeshi heritage and culture, and improve communication among the members of the community.

BASJ also acts as the representative of the Bangladeshi community of South New Jersey to national events such as FOBANA (Forum of Bangladeshi Associations of North America) Conference, Nazrul Conference and other cultural and literary conferences. BASJ has been active in addressing issues at the local level in New Jersey as well as the national level in the United States. Members of BASJ participate in various local and national forums that serve the interests of the Bangladeshi community. It also uses its resources to help critical causes such as helping the flood victims of Bangladesh.

Services

Cultural and Charity Programs

BASJ regularly holds events throughout the year that are cultural and family oriented. These events allow us to come together as a community and enjoy ourselves as people of Bangladeshi heritage. We also hold youth development programs!

Eid Bazar

We hold Eid Bazaar twice every year in Atlantic City BASJ community center where we welcome Desi vendors from different parts of America to come celebrate Eid together. The events are usually filled with ethnic food, music and dances.

Passport and Other Civic Services

For many years, BASJ has looked after the interest of our Bangladesh based community in New Jersey by organizing critical services such as passport/visa services from Bangladesh Consulate General of New York and other important services such Tax and Accounting.
