Bangladesh Association of South Jersey is a nonprofit 501(C)(3) Organization and our local community’s members are dedicated souls with strong commitments to make a difference in the community by volunteering their time and efforts only to build a better rich Bangladeshi- American community. Bangladesh Association of South Jersey always encourages exchange of students, artists, athletes among different cultures and communities to promote mutual understanding and respect for all, thus creating a positive impact for us and our future generations.

Most of the first generation of Bangladeshi immigrants started careers in the lowest group of family income as per the historical data; however, the income of most families has increased over time as we have moved our first low -paying jobs to better -paying jobs later in our careers. But there are still so many Bangladeshi families who lack behind the curve and Bangladesh Association of South Jersey’s officials are dedicated to help them with important advice, support and help. Since our inception, BASHJ and its members have been working hard to achieve goals by organizing and participating in different community, multicul-tural, and charitable events. BASJ owns a building which has office spaces, community center, meeting rooms, and a large room used for food distribution and used for a food pantry shop.

We also running free adult English School, Bangla School, English as a Second Languages (ESL), US citizenship class, Holidays food giveaway and Arabic School, Job Training, Job Seminar, Temporary Consular services, provide medical services including Covid test, Covid vaccinations, sugar test, blood pressures and cholesterol checks, and we are partnership with community food bank of New Jersey to provide food to every person in the community with food insecurities. Since 2009 we have organized a Bangladesh Fairs and we celebrate various events including Eid Bazar, Pie Festival, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year and Independents Day. We need immediate attention to upgrade our Bangladesh community center, and we are in process of building new bathrooms, Kitchen, Install Heating & Cooling

System, upgrade Electric, and upgrade the meeting rooms area. I commend our vision of building and bringing community together. This “coming together” makes our community unique. The hard work of immigrants, their talents, and their ideas help to make the Atlantic City area the greatest in the State of New Jersey
